In India, the Aadhaar card has become an indispensable document, and children are no different. Children under five years old receive a unique Aadhaar card called Baal Aadhaar, which is colored blue. Here is all the information you require to apply for this significant document:

A Blue Aadhaar Card: What Is It?

For children five years of age and under, the Baal Aadhaar card, also known as the Blue Aadhaar card, is the unique Aadhaar card. It connects the child’s biometric data and demographics to a distinct 12-digit identification number, just like a standard Aadhaar card.

However, because of their age, the child’s fingerprints and iris scans are not collected, in contrast to the normal Aadhaar.

What Makes a Blue Aadhaar Card Vital?

There are various advantages to enrolling your child for a Blue Aadhaar card:

  • Simplified access to government programs: An Aadhaar card is required for several government assistance programs and scholarships. Your child is guaranteed to be eligible for these advantages if they have a Blue Aadhaar.
  • Convenient verification: When applying for a variety of services, such as school admissions or vaccinations, the Blue Aadhaar can be used to verify identity and residence.
  • Travel ease: The Blue Aadhaar can be helpful for domestic travel within India, especially when accompanied by a parent’s Aadhaar card.
