PAN card is an important government document. This is required for banking or other financial related matters.
Opening a bank account, buying or selling a property, buying or selling a vehicle, filing ITR, etc., there are many things that require a PAN card.
Don’t panic if your PAN card gets lost or damaged. Income Tax Department provides facility to download e-PAN card. You can download e-PAN only with the help of Aadhaar card. It is important to link Aadhaar with PAN and registered mobile number.
What is e-pan service?
E-PAN service was launched to issue PAN card instantly. These cards are issued almost real-time to users with a valid Aadhaar number. E-PAN is a card in digital form issued after verification of e-KYC details from Aadhaar. It is available in PDF format for free.
How to download?
It can be downloaded through the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department.
First you visit the official website www.tin-nsdl.com
Then select the Instant e-PAN option on the left side.
- Click on Continue under Check Status/ Download PAN.
- After this you have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. Mark the checkbox and click Continue
- An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. Enter it and click Continue.
- Now another screen will appear in which View E-PAN and Download E-PAN option will be available. From this select Download E-PAN.
- Then click on Save the PDF file. Your e-PAN will be downloaded.
