Six Courts of Ibn Battuta Mall
The single level mall is divided into 6 zones, each reflecting the architecture of the regions that Ibn Battuta visited.
India Court
Themed after the splendour of India’s Mughal period, the India Court is home to a full-size reproduction of the Elephant Clock. This water-powered clock was devised in the 12th century by an engineer from Mesopotamia call al-Jazari. It was featured in his famous Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices along with other inventions such as a robotic band and an automated drinks waitress.
China Court
It is themed after the majesty and vibrancy of Imperial China. The main feature in China Court is a huge Chinese junk similar to one that the explorer would have travelled in. Displays here also tell the story of Zheng He, a 15th century Chinese mariner.
Persian Court
The grand dome at the Persian Court reflects the artistic arabesque design of Persian heritage. It’s arched passages, blue and turquoise mosaic walkway and magnificent brass chandelier immediately transports you to the vaulted streets of Baghdad.
Egypt Court
Themed as an authentic Egyptian Bazaar, it brings to life the wonder of its ancient history pharaohs, pyramids, hieroglyphics and temples. Sandstone walls with carved hieroglyphics, papyrus columns, pointed arches of the central arcade, and majestic lanterns lend the feel of an authentic Egyptian bazaar
Tunisia Court
Modelled on the coastal towns of Tunisa with influence of Moroccan royalty, its stucco facades, blue doors, wrought iron work and stained glass windows recreate the charm of century’s old African souks
Andalusia Court
Inspired by the Andalusian Palaces and Mosques, the Andalusia Court has lofty halls, red stone walls, star-shaped ceiling and Fountain of Lions, inspired by the Alhambra Palace.
