Jakarta: Indonesia changes visa procedures to boost the tourism sector. The country has recently formulated a five-year visa policy. Visitors can stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days. The new visa allows visitors to come and go in Indonesia for up to five years.
The new visa is issued by extending the validity of the old visa for 30 days. By making it a 5-year multiple entry visa, the Indonesian government hopes to attract more tourists to the country.
Indonesia also informs that the new visa regulations have already come into effect. US$ 972 (Rs. 80,000) is charged for a 5-year visa. The amount is to be paid through online payment.
Those arriving under a 5-year multiple entry visa will have to change their visa if they get a permanent job in Indonesia. The new visa will only be allowed for tourism and other visits. Those seeking permanent residence can apply for other visas.
