Kerala’s first crane manufacturing plant has started operations at Mathilakam, Kodungallur, Thrissur.
With the opening of the truck mounted crane manufacturing factory of Levage Engineering Private Limited, a big leap has been initiated in the manufacturing sector.
Once the project starts on 12 acres and is fully completed, there is going to be an investment of Rs 300 crores in Kerala.
The company will employ 300 people directly and 200 people indirectly in the first phase and will see a significant increase in employment during the expansion phase.
Products that will benefit construction companies, railways, ports and shipyards will be produced from here.
This initiative will give a fresh impetus to Kerala’s industrial sector and aims to export equipment to Europe and various other countries.
The company aims to manufacture cranes on trucks under the Sato brand as well as related equipment.
