Kerala is the first in the country to introduce an OTT platform owned by a state government. C Space is a response to the growing imbalances and challenges in the OTT sector in terms of content and promotion, made possible through realisation.
C Space is managed by KSFDC. KSFDC has a 60-member curatorial committee to select and approve films for C Space. has been formed. The committee will evaluate the artistic and cultural value of the content submitted to C Space. Only movies recommended by them will be screened on the platform.
42 films have been selected for the first phase of C Space. It will also have films that have won national and state awards or have been screened at prestigious film festivals. The multi-award winning films ‘Nishidho’ and ‘B 32 to 44’ are premiering through C Space.
Transparency in profit margins and viewership and state-of-the-art technology are hallmarks of Cspace. On a pay-as-you-go basis, C Space will offer a feature film for Rs 75 and short films at a very low price. The content provider will get half of the amount charged.
C Space has decided to screen only films that have been released in theatres, taking into account the concern that theaters will be in trouble due to producers releasing films directly on OTT platforms. Short films, documentaries and experimental films suggested by curators will be made available on the platform.
