Gavi is a nature-friendly tourism project that attracts many tourists. Now KSRTC’s budget tourism has started service from Thekkady to Gavi.
Officials of the Periyar Tiger Reserve say that the service, which started in the new year, has received a good response on the first day.
The service starts from Thekkady parking ground at 6.30 am and returns to Gavi. The entry fee is Rs 45 for domestic tourists and Rs 500 for foreigners. Ticket price is Rs 1000 per person including breakfast. Return to Thekkady at 12.30 pm.
The forest department has also organized programs like boating, nature walk, green walk, jungle scout, bamboo rafting, border hiking, tribal heritage/tribal dance here.
On the first day, many people came directly to the information center and booked. Officials hope that more people will arrive in the coming days. The booking will be changed online soon.
