The Mehrangarh Fort is nicknamed “The Citadel of the Sun” due to its location and the warm, reddish-brown color of its sandstone walls. The fort is known for its intricate architecture, which reflects the rich heritage of Rajasthan. It has seven gates, including the impressive Jai Pol (meaning “victory gate”), which was built to commemorate a war victory.

The Mehrangarh Fort is now a museum that houses a collection of artifacts, including royal palanquins (sedan chairs), weapons, and paintings. It also offers stunning panoramic views of the Blue City of Jodhpur below.
