Bringing comfort to expatriates and natives alike, the cost of air tickets is likely to come down significantly.
In the wake of the huge increase in fuel prices, the airline companies have decided to remove the additional charge imposed three months ago, which is a boon for the passengers.
The country’s leading budget airline IndiGo has taken the first step in this regard. IndiGo has stated that the fuel charge is being waived in view of the reduction in aviation fuel prices. This will reduce the ticket price of international and domestic services.
Other leading airlines of the country are also expected to waive the fuel charge in the coming days. A fuel surcharge of Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 per ticket has been introduced since October last year for distances between 500 and 3,500 km.
Meanwhile, Salam Air resumed service on Thiruvananthapuram Muscat route. The service is on Mondays and Thursdays. The flight arrives from Muscat at 3:25 am and returns at 4:10 am. Oman Airlines also operates on this route.
