Participating for QUICKFLIX – Spot Short Film Creation Fest. Kindly find the rules and regulations as follows:
Aim of the Contest
The Kuwait Film Enthusiasts is thrilled in organizing the Spot Short Film Creation Contest on Friday 31st May 2024, a very exciting platform designed to celebrate creativity, storytelling and cinematic innovation. With this contest, we aim to foster a community of film makers, nurture emerging talent, and showcase the power of storytelling in its concise and impactful manner. We believe in encouraging creativity, importance of providing opportunities, celebrate diversity and captivating the audience evoking emotions and meaningful conversations.
Eligibility
- No age limits
- Only first 20 registrations will be eligible for the contest. It will be on first come first basis.
- Individual or team participation is allowed.
- Multiple entries are welcome from same Director/Producer.
- Choosing Technical crew is participants sole responsibility.
- One actor/actress can act in multiple films.
- Can be shot on Mobile or in DSLR camera.
Film - Committee/Jury has the sole authority to reject any films without providing any reason.
- No language barrier, any language other than Malayalam or English to be subtitled in English.
Theme and Content Guidelines:
- Participants are free to choose any theme as per their discretion.
- Please avoid subjects like suicide, nudity & any other controversial themes which disrespects Kuwait Laws and culture.
- If same location selected by multiple participants at the same time, a lot shall be taken between them and allocation shall be made accordingly.
Entry Fee:
- Registration fee will be KWD 10 to be paid while registration.
- Google form needs to be duly filled.
- Only paid participants will be counted as registered.
Submission Requirements:
- Participants can shoot and do their post production works in the designated premises from Thursday 30th May 2.00 PM to Friday 31st May 2.00 PM.
- Finished film received after 2.00 PM on 31st May 2024 will not be encouraged.
- The duration of short film shall be minimum 3 minutes and not exceeding 5 minutes.
- The participants shall submit their film in CODEC H264 (mov/.mp4) file format.
- The film should be submitted in landscape layout. Minimum resolution shall be 1920×1080 (HD).
- Background music, sound effects can be downloaded from internet and can be used to enhance the movie.
- Serial nos for each team will be provided before the commencement of the shoot.
- All submissions must be submitted in a USB labelled with the given serial no. provided to KFE designated representatives not later than 2pm on May 31st 2024.
- In case the USB does not open, please keep a copy handy for WeTransfer
- USB will be returned back after the event.
- The entire film should be shot and processed within the designated premises. Any part of the film making found outside the premises shall result in disqualification.
Originality and Ownership:
All works must be original creations of the participant/team
Awarding Criteria:
Jury’s decision is final, disputes regarding the decision shall not be encouraged.

Publicity & Promotion:
All participating films will be screened at DPS Auditorium LED Screen. Press Release and social media publicity will be done.S
Miscellaneous Provisions:
- Shooting spot will be revealed on 10th May 2024, all participants shall ensure to be present for better shooting ideas. Failing to attend won’t be the responsibility of the committee.
- SOUND FACTORY (dubbing studio) will be stationed in the premises for dubbing. Those who wish to use their service can avail it by paying them separately or they can bring their own . Room and power supply will be provided by KFE in the premises.
- dubbing equipment Limited access for internet shall be provided by KFE, Participants can bring their own internet facility if needed.
- Rooms and desk will be provided by KFE in the premises for editing. Supporting equipment should be brought by the participants.
- Food counters will be available on payable basis.
- Participants can carry additional props if essential.
Modification and Termination:
- KFE reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the contest at any time, if required, respecting the Laws of Kuwait
- KFE shall not be responsible for any type of unforeseen climatic and political conditions which might affect the event.
