Following the unexpected rain last week, Dubai Metro services faced widespread disruptions. Following this, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has requested the public to temporarily limit metro use during peak hours. Metro stations and tracks have been affected by floods following heavy rains. Several stations on the Red Lines were disrupted. Officials have requested that metro use be reduced during peak hours as cleaning work is currently in progress.
Advice to metro users
- Avoid using Metro during peak hours.
- Plan trips in advance.
- Utilize other available stations and public transport systems.
- Check mobile app of RTA for latest updates
Know about metro services
RTA informed that 20 stations on Green Line are now back up and working. The Big Red Line, which has 35 stations, operates only for short periods of time. The service on the Red Line is limited. The train does not stop at some stations. Only services from Dubai Metro Centrepoint to Expo 2020 and UAE Exchange stations will continue as usual. But the train will not stop at Onpassive, Equity, Mashreq and Energy stations. Those boarding from Centrepoint will have to change trains at Business Bay and Al Khail stations. Otherwise you will have to use the bus services provided instead.
