The film stars Biju Menon, Asif Ali, Miya George, Anusree, Dileesh Pothan, Shankar Ramakrishnan, and others. The film begins with Uday, a former police officer who has become a regular on a major news channel, recounting true crime stories from his extensive career.
The show has been a hit, with millions of fans tuning in every day. However, things take a turn when one of the reporters asks him to cover the infamous “Cheppanamthotta Case.”
When she brings it up, the officer’s face falls. He flatly refuses to say anything about it. Not one to give up, the reporter persists, and the police eventually agrees-with one condition. Who is trying to frame Jaishankar & why?
To solve the enigma of the killer’s identity and why he framed Jaishankar, we must return to an old occurrence from Jaishankar’s time at the Pattadi police station.
Many years earlier, while on patrol, Jaishankar witnessed Arun (Shivdasan’s son) and his friend Sintu punching a cop when the officer made a provocative comment about Arun’s girlfriend. Jaishankar detained Arun and his companions on the spot and ordered Shivdasan, a policeman at the same station, to beat his son in front of everyone, including Arun’s fiancée. That humiliation affected Arun so deeply that he couldn’t take the embarrassment and committed suicide.
Shivdasan blamed Jaishankar for Arun’s death and was searching for an opportunity to damage Jaishankar’s life in the same way that he had his own. Shivdasan also directed Joshi to assault Jaishankar’s wife. However, Joshi began utilizing this tiny secret to blackmail Shivdasan for money. He even told Ramya about it, hoping she could use it to help him get away. Shivdasan murdered Ramya and kidnapped her daughter in order to keep his crime hidden.
Then he deposited Ramya’s body at Jaishankar’s house, blaming him for the crime. But why was Sintu killed? It turned out that Sintu was also blackmailing Shivdasan for money. So Shivdasan murdered him as well and hid his body at Kartik’s home, attempting to drag him down with the sinking ship. When Shivdasan’s truth is ultimately revealed, he and his men attempt to murder Jaishankar and Kartik, but are apprehended and incarcerated.
