Indians can now use Google Pay abroad. This way you can avoid carrying currency notes while traveling abroad. Google India Digital Services and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) International Payments have reached an agreement to enable payments outside India.
With this, Indian travelers can make payments in other countries through Google Pay (Gpay). This saves travelers the hassle of carrying currency notes. The MoU also aims to facilitate remittances from abroad to India and vice versa
The agreement also says to provide all necessary assistance to carry out UPI transactions abroad. Customers can make digital payments abroad without using foreign currency, credit cards and foreign exchange cards.
