Abu Dhabi Airports in the United Arab Emirates revealed the latest modern technological systems included in Passenger Concourse A at the new Abu Dhabi International Airport, and the special transit areas for passengers traveling to and from the Emirati territories.
The Abu Dhabi Airports Administration announced the use of the latest facial recognition technologies, in addition to technologies for passengers to board the aircraft cabin without the need to present travel documents.

Elena Sorlini, interim CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said in statements to the media that the new building inside Abu Dhabi International Airport is one of the largest and most advanced airport buildings in the world.
Adding that the latest modern technological systems are used, including facial recognition technology through 9 biometric touch points during all stages of the journey, starting from the traveler entering the airport.
Full baggage drop service at Abu Dhabi International Airport
The airport also includes a self-service baggage drop area, which allows passengers to reach the aircraft cabin within only 12 minutes of entering the airport.
The arrival time for passengers outside the external gate of the airport hall also takes only 18 minutes due to modern technologies for luggage and documents, while the time for transit passengers is only 30 minutes.
Intelligent electronic bag tracking system
The new system at Abu Dhabi International Airport also provides a special code for each bag to track the bags and deal with travelers’ luggage throughout the flight to ensure that travelers’ bags are not lost.
The new system inside Abu Dhabi Airport can process up to 19,200 bags per hour, enabling passengers to reach the boarding gate or exit the airport lounge in record time.
Increase in aircraft movement at the new airport by 20%
The Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed that aircraft movement has increased by 20% since the operation of the new airport within the Abu Dhabi Airports Complex.
The number of passengers has also increased by 49% since the beginning of last October, compared to the same period last year, in addition to the presence of the new hotel at Abu Dhabi Airport, which includes 138 rooms to receive travelers.
