Dubai: If a child is born while in exile in the UAE, if the residence permit is not obtained within 120 days, legal proceedings including fines are pending. If a residence visa is not obtained within 120 days of the child’s birth, a fee of Dh100 will be charged for each day after that period and legal action will be taken.

To avoid the penalty, first get the child’s birth certificate and apply for a passport. One can approach Indian Embassy in UAE to apply for passport. The next step is to apply for a visa at the UAE embassy in the home country for the child to get a visa to the UAE.

To sponsor a child or family in the UAE, you must ensure that your residence visa is valid.  Must present minimum salary limit to sponsor family and submission of required documents.  It usually takes about a week to issue the UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID.
