The Vande Bharat Express, which will connect Bengaluru and Kochi, will begin this week; full details are within.

With intentions for a future line to Madurai, the Vande Bharat Express joins existing routes that connect Bengaluru to Chennai, Mysuru, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore.

Kochi and Bengaluru are going to get closer when the Vande Bharat Express debuts next week. The train will leave Ernakulam on July 31 and Bengaluru Cantonment on August 1. It will make 12 journeys in each direction, three times a week.

This train will be a special service to manage increased passenger demand, according to M Senthamil Selvan, Chief Public Relations Officer, Southern Railway, who was cited by DH. The quickest train on this route, the Vande Bharat Express, will reduce the typical 10- to 12-hour trip time to roughly nine hours.
