The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recommended updating Aadhaar information at least once in ten years.
Information can be updated free of charge till March 14 through the My Aadhaar portal. A service charge of Rs 50 is payable if the information is updated through the Aadhaar Centre.
After March 14th additional fee will be charged to update information. The free deadline, which was supposed to end on December 15, has been extended due to popular demand.
How to Update Address in Aadhaar Card
- Visit the official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
- Select the ‘Update Your Aadhaar’ option from the ‘MyAadhaar’ menu.
- Then click on ‘Update Demographic Data Online’ option.
- A redesigned interface for Aadhaar Card Self Service Portal will appear on your screen.
- Select the ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ option.
- Enter your Aadhaar card number and enter captcha
- Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number
- After entering the OTP click on ‘Update Demographic Data’ option again.
- Click on ‘Address’ option to change address.
- Enter new address information. Upload new address validating proofs along with
- Double check that the information provided is correct.
- Enter any charges associated with the service, if any
- Status can be checked with URN received
